Animals killed during filming?

The imdb parents guide says: "5-8 minutes of graphic violence to animals. A cattle kill floor to be more specific. End credits did not make any specifications by the ASPCA as to the treatment of these animals"

Also the keywords mention a rabbit being shot.

I checked the American Humane website, and it says the filming was not monitored because AHA inspectors were never notified. Does anyone have any info on how the scenes were done, whether the director had animals actually killed?

*edit*
Just did a bunch of research & answered my own question. The animal killings were real.
