Motion Comics + Word Balloons

I enjoyed this adaptation immensely. I hope they do a few more graphic novels in this manner!

I almost wish the word balloons had been edited out and it was a straight up voice over, but I still think this was excellent fun!

Can't wait until Friday!!

What? They left the word balloons in?
The reviewer mentioned the voices of Rorscach, Dr Manhattan & Nite Owl.

Yes the word balloons are in it. The only part I didn't like, but it still rocked!

The word bubbles are kinda necessary to know what character is speaking when. Of course if there were several people doing the voices it would be a different story.

The word balloons were perfect in keeping with the fact this was a comic book brought to semi-life. Hardly distracting as they could be ignored easily enough as another design element. I was amused by the technology that kept the tails pointed faithfully at whoever had spoken, regardless of their movement oin the frame.

While I initially thought "why didn't they remove them" too, I quickly realised - as other posters said - that they were needed so we knew who was speaking, given we had only one voice actor and no "lip movement".

This is not the first "motion comic" I've seen done this way (the earliest was The Mask: The Origin, released by Dark Horse back in the late 90s), and while I can't say its the very best (I do wish they';d used a full voice cast), it was very good indeed and a great way to get non-comic fans to "read" the real source.
