Wow this movie is bad... I thought it would be good

I had heard it was good. When I saw the trailer I thought it looked great. But it wasn't good at all.

For one thing its way too long. It's close to 2 1/2 hours long and thats way too long especially for a sub-par musical. The songs are not very good. I love latin music, hip-hop and all the genres that are used here so that isn't the problem. The songs just are bad. The story isn't great either..its actually really cringey.

There's of course the things that try to get you to get an emotional attachment to the characters and they're just really poorly done. Very generic and tired stuff.

I tend to like musicals more if I see it in the theater. Like Greatest Showman I loved but I never cared for La La Land. La La Land got rave reviews for a musical so maybe its just something like that... but this is getting like so much better reviews than La La Land even.

Did you watch it at home or in the theater? Also were you under the influence?

Damn...idk how people liked this crap especially to the point where they're raving about it giving it excellent ratings. To each their own.

If you like 80s rock, then you should check out Rock of Ages with Tom Cruise. Highly underrated, I think.

Also, for classics, everyone should see Singin' in the Rain at least once.

I'm into music, but lala land bored the crap out of me. I did try after all the raving reviews - now I know. I literally almost fell asleep to lala land. and had to stop and watch over 3 different days. it was well made, and I respect the work they put into it, but it lacked something.... I dunno, soul and heart. Ryan dancing looked like he nailed the moves, and performed them, but that was all. Like 1 2 3 4 and no real life or reason.

That’s how it looks to me in the trailer. That’s a shame.
