RATED R? MY Blu-ray says so. wasn't it pg-13 in theaters

I just got the blu-ray. Rated R. I thought it was pg-13

reply

nope.. rated R in cinemas too

THANKS.

I must be out of my mind then.
I saw this in april and just found the ticket while cleaning 2 days ago and threw it out. I could swear the ticket said PG-13

According to the director's commentary on the DVD, the reason it's R is that there is the taking of drugs. Despite the fact that all those who took the drugs (the homemade concoction) were unaware that they were doing so, whoever does the ratings have deemed that it's an R.

Really? what about all the swearing and man ass

reply

Yeah, that too. He had nothing on. Luke Wilson wondered why it wasn't a closed set; Marsden could have asked for one but he didn't. Wouldn't have changed the rating, though; he still had nothing on.
Also the use of certain four-letter words.
All adds up to R; the commentary, though, said it was the drugs.
