Why this movie was made?

A *beep* cash grab remake from an excellent movie that came out only a few years before. I was sad to see that this movie grossed double it's budget, while the original, better movie, never broke their money. It's also sad that it was so easy for the 2010 version to find a market while the old one never found a big enough one. The film industry can be a bitch.

C'mon... It's very rare for a British film to break into the North American market. I've yet to see the British version, but I don't think that I'll be able to relate to it nearly as well as I could this one.... And I like a lot of British humour.

And whether or not the original was better is a matter of opinion for each individual viewer.

You might change your mind if you saw the original, which was great. It left this piece of crap way behind.

I saw the original, and thought it was hilarious---there's nothing in it so weird or esoteric that you couldn't relate to---it's basically an old-school comedy farce, but a good one. And British films are distributed into the North American market all the time---only a small number break through to become blockbuster hits. I like the fact that the remake was actually pretty faithful to the original plot and didn't make any major changes to it---that was pretty cool, and the remake was funny too. And, no it's wasn't "crap" like this poster claims---you just didn't like it because it has a black cast, that's all. Tell the truth---that's the REAL reason why a lot of folks on this board don't like it,and probably have of them have never even seen the original to begin with---they just want to bash a film because it's got an all-black-cast,that's all. Not on whether it's actually,God forbid, GOOD or not.

I have yet to see the original, but I've heard great reviews on it, so I might check it out. As for the remake, I love it. No matter what the people on this board says.

Is that the reason why this remake was made? For the black audience? That's very racist. Why black, yellow, whatever color people can't enjoy the original? Because of the british accent? That's very racist from the producers of this remake, to think the audience could only enjoy it if they turn it into a "stereotypical-african-american-comedy".
It's like remaking "Trainspotting" with, as you said, an all-black main cast. I don't see the point.
