He's no different than most people his age who go travelling. I think he adds a great contrast to how serious Scott is, and gets him to loosen up a lot more.

He's just a "bro" type. With the hair, the attitude towards everything and the constant drinking+eating garbage then feeling crappy about it and sleeping all day.

Although it adds comedic relief because Scott is very serious and knowledgeable. I think Justin represents the average non-traveling person who only travels to all inclusive hot spots.
