_Vagabond_ by Agnes Varda, perhaps too obvious to merit a mention. I haven't seen _Light Years Away_. Alain Tanner seems completely forgotten these days, his films largely out of circulation. Thanks for the reminder.

Vagabond (1985) is indeed a quite similar. But Vagabond was much more powerful. Nothing Personal was a bit disappointing.
