Alejandro Rose-Garcia as Julian

Personally, I was captivated by Alejandro Rose Garcia's portrayal of Julian. His shots in the movie were few but there was this dark, twisted beauty to him. Alejandro did a really good job; this is my first time seeing him act and I was touched by the raw energy he gave. He reminded me sometimes of Joaquin Phoenix in Gladiator but he definitely made this his own.

I have never read a book by Nora Roberts so this observation is purely from a viewer's perspective.

As opposed to Lucian, who came off as a blind, failed knight in armor, Julian screamed something else...like a child who couldn't find a sense of self, and because of it, became self destructive. I was trying to figure out who Julian was because he confused me sometimes. He hated his brother for being better than him, for being loved by the girl he loved, but he also loved his brother almost to the point of possessiveness, not wanting to share him with the world. I almost feel like Julian never wanted to make Lucian choose between him and Abigail because he felt scared that Julian wouldn't choose him. Because he knew that he wasn't perfect. At the end, I was moved when Julian said to Lucian in a heartbroken voice, "Don't you love me brother?" because it summed up Julian's twisted self so well.

Just--props to Alejandro for making me believe the emotion was real. He came off so naturally. I'm surprised he isn't in more films.
