The Arkadian - rip-off of Henry VIII from The Tudors?

This film just started on Sci-Fi and I was writing an e-mail so wasn't paying much attention but when it came to a scene where the Arkadian was speaking I really thought it was Jonathan Rhys Meyers playing Henry VIII in The Tudors and was surprised to see it wasn't JRM when I looked at the screen.

I think the actor has been watching The Tudors too much!

Merlin's accent is awful too - sounds like Windsor Davies to me (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=yFlRmrVvk24) but he's not old enough to pull it off
