I personally loved the Book "The skystone" by Jack Whyte from The Dream of Eagles 6 volume collection

David Gemmel wrote a couple of great books based on the King Arthur leg-end and I thoroughly recommend those, can't recall the titles, they are on my bookshelf back in Scotland.
