The blood, THE BLOOD!!!

Come on... During the film it has every color and substance imaginable, but that of real blood :( It goes from watered down red wine to gravy.

It's like watching a western flick from the 60's, where everyone bleeds orange.

BTW: The "vampire hunters" in this movie, should be renamed "Darwin award hunters"

At least it was red, but I agree the stuff he drank from the fridge looked like a fine bottle of claret or lambrusco red or something? But, not very blood like.

I agree with you about the blood not having any consistancy throughout the film, and the scene with Dane drinking from a glass was laughable.

The only other things I will say are that Im not sure what goes into a blood pack but even refrigerated I was to understand blood had to be treated with some anticoagulants to keep it liquidy enough to be usable.

So not knowing how much of that stuff is added to a bag of blood and now knowing how much it gets watered down its hard to say how the blood in a glass would react.

Also blood from a finger prick is different then blood from say an artery, yes all oxyganated blood is red but it pouring out of say a severd hand is going to look darker and maybe even a bit thicker. So as for coloring i wasnt put off by the fact that it looked different shades.

The one scene that really killed it was Stella rising up out of the tub of blood and then standing there like she was in watered down cranberry juice. Just dunk her in some red paint or whatever that crap was that they used in The Descent. That at least looked like blood.

That image of Stella coming out of the bucket o'blood looking just like an image from "Descent" was the first thing I thought of, too, turock.
Also, the bodies being bled would have had to have been treated with an anticoagulant; hanging dead on meathooks with watery blood running out into the buckets was ridiculous.
Really...they should have done a better job with this.

That's what happens watching low quality pirated low bitrated re-encoded copies.

I just thought that the series was probably inspired by the original 30 days of night's producer, Sam Rami. In his earlier Evil Dead films he used all the colors of the rainbow for bodily fluids.

I didn't mind the blood that much except that it was inconsistent in how its portrayed. Personally, I think they should've just used one substance for blood and just stuck with it.

The blood in the fridge looked like cranberry juice. Totally watery, you could see through it, it didn't stick to the glass or have any kind of thickness. Also if it is kept in the fridge like that without being agitated the plasma will separate.
