Having been a massive fan of the Noel Clark film's (as you can probably tell by the signature quote at the bottom of this reply), 'Shank' being made by the same producer's made it seem a promising prospect... but, only five minutes in I could tell it was not going to deliver the same kind of intense viewing that Kid/Adulthood provided. The premise is contrived with no real explanation as to why the country has become the way they imagine it in 2015. The acting from all the star's (bar the guy who play's Craze... who is the highlight of an other-wise awful film) is lame and in some cases an un-true reflection on real talent (Adam Deacon). Whilst there are one or two passable scene's... for the most part it is silly and un-focus'd with all the stupid cut scene's. In my opinion this film should be miss'd and for those looking to watch somthing sort-of similar in feel to Kid/Adulthood... Then '4,3,2,1' is simply un-missable, with a brilliant and interesting story, great acting and a slightly Tarantino-esque back and forth structure that give's all the detail's needed to understand what is going on but also keeping you guessing right up untill the last couple of scene's.
Ignore 'Shank', I made the mistake of watching it with high hope's and it was one massive let-down. The only two half decent thing's about it are the performance by matey who play's Craze and the bird from Skins... She's fit.
"You got a zoot?".... "Nah, I got a roll-up though, chaff'd it off my Mum".
