Where can I watch this? Try buying the f@£king DVD you skin-flints. Always think everything in life should be free, don't you? I'm sure the director worked 2 years on this project just so he could "give" it to you. People like you are such a%$£holes.

walk into HMV you melt - it is displayed right up at the front - but I'm guessing you'll never part with£12.99 now, will you. Dick

I love how people immediately assume I want to watch it for free. I don't download, go on torrents, or buy movies off the street.

I just meant simply, "where can I watch this?" Is there a DVD that I can get? I'm in the US and was curious. No reason to get up in arms about something that wasn't even said.

JAWS - best film ever made.

@julian-Gilbey

STFU and stop crying like a little child. God people like you should be left on a island with no food, or better yet a real situation where sharks feed off you ;)

reply

lol julian is a director, hence why he got so annoyed.

I too am very anxious to see this movie. I tried to buy it through itunes, checked my netflix and came up with nothing.

So it is a legitimate question. Is it out on DVD and available in the US? Is there a reliable location to purchase it to watch it on a site that is not a ripoff site that will make you an indentured servant for life.

So be nice, we just want to share the experience.
If anybody knows how to view this movie (I wish we could have had a big screen release here)I would be very grateful for the help.

Well, I too am VERY eager to see this movie. Ever since I saw the great granddaddy of 'em all - the masterpiece that is JAWS - when I was a little kid, I've been both fascinated and terrified of sharks. Being scared witless by JAWS sent me on a lifetime journey that has caused me to read and watch everything I can on sharks, to educate myself and get to know them - even though all that accumulated knowledge hasn't diminished my fear of them one damned bit! :)

JAWS 2 was unfairly maligned (although still far inferior to the original), DEEP BLUE SEA was a cartoony, ridiculous bit of fun, and OPEN WATER was genuinely frightening to me for it's sheer sense of primal, realistic helplessness and hopelessness.

But after hearing about this movie and seeing BLACK WATER (which was highly enjoyable and successfully maintained a high degree of tension), I became VERY keen to see this one. The integration of the genuine shark footage and the actors (a method employed to spooky results in BLACK WATER)in the trailer had my butt coming up off my seat, so I REALLY want to see this!

Apparently, a US distributor has been secured. See here:

I've gone to Image's website, but no mention of THE REEF. If any of the filmmakers happen to see this post, could someone chime in or give us an update? We here in the US want to see this flim!

Okay, I sent an email to Image Entertainment and got back a reply from someone in Acquisitions/Distribution.

They said that they're planning on releasing THE REEF on disc this summer! Of course, they didn't specify a date, but at least that's a tiny step in the right direction.

It makes sense, anyway - what better time to release a shark movie than the summer, when everyone's going to the beach (including me)?

reply

Got another email from a different person at Image Entertainment. She also said they intend to release THE REEF on disc in the U.S. this summer. She said the target month is July.

It sucks to have to wait, but I'm willing to do it - this looks like a good movie.

reply

Yeah because you soooo haven't watched this online. Just admit it! lol

It took 2 years to make??
