Why keep looking for/at the shark underwater?

I didn't understand that. It wasn't like knowing where it was made any difference. They had no weapons. Sharks stalk and can come out of nowhere. What was the point of that? Especially at the end near the reef; Luke wasted a lot of time either looking for or staring at the shark underwater, instead of swimming. Honestly, I'd rather not see it coming for me anyway, just keep swimming.

I think the only point was to create suspense and give some more shark shots.

Wouldn't you want to know where it is at all times? I know I would. Who would want that surprise?

I'm with you bud, knowing don't help in the slightest, other than maybe being able to position yourself behind one of the other humans..

When In the middle of know where I suppose I may have a look. But when the rock at the end was in sight. Your one and only chance is to get on it...

To be honest I'd freeze in terror at any shark, would've stayed on boat...

I Think its a fact that Sharks perfer to ambush. If you look at them and they know you see them they are less likely to attack.
I liked that touch in the Movie...it shows Luke kept his head.
