The final scene

Don't get me wrong, the entire movie was bad, but the final scene was absolutely painful to watch. I lost tons of respect for Emily Blunt because she actually agreed to participate in the whole "War! Huh! What is it good for? Absolutely nuthin!" ridiculous ending. All I can hope is that she agreed to do this garbage thinking it was going to be more of a literal retelling of the Gulliver story than a bastardization, and by the time she found out the truth it was too late to back out.

Yep, the 'War!' scene was just the icing on a particularly rancid cake. Embarrassing didn't cover it. When watching that scene it was finally, erevocably confirmed to me that 95% of these acting types would just sell their cred, dignity and souls just for a slab of screentime. I expect it of wankers like Connolly, Corden & Tate but Blunt should have known better.

According to someone in another thread, and with a link to some article, Emily Blunt was contractually obligated to one more film for Fox, so if you think about it, what better way to close a contract than dress up as a princess and not have to do much otherwise.

Besides, she was really pretty here.

Emily Blunt can have fun in movies too! Jeez.

I didn't think the entire film was bad; it was actually kind of fun for about the first 1/3, then got very predictable and bland for until 2/3 of the way...then really took a major nosedive. And I agree - the ending was absolutely a mess and I ended up turning it off about 40 seconds into the song and just didn't bother going back to see the credits. Had I been in a theater I'm certain I would have walked out at that point.

All through the film I kept wondering how did Emily Blunt get roped into doing this thing. The only explanation I could come up with was that she wanted to try her hand at something totally silly and lighthearted to show she was game and could do broad comedy; it may have looked good on paper but just didn't transfer well at all onto film. It will probably go down in her career as the worst thing she's ever done.

You've done some bad things, sweetie.

The song was only done so we can see Jack Black dance and use his lame dancing moves again.
