The trolls on IMDB

I am now certain that IMDB is infested by trolls. This movie was harmless, extremely funny at times (many times) and to see how many people are taking the time to actually come on here to post about how much they hated the film just proves to me that there is an army of trolls that flock to IMDB.

This happens packro, trolls are more frequent than underage kids uttering swear-words (in fact, I think the two are somehow linked).

Just watched it myself and wondered what people had to say about it on the forums; a let down for humanity again it seems. To be honest I often wonder how they have enough time out of their daily trolling routine to actually watch movies (or am I daft enough to think they *do* actually watch them?).

Still, life goes on - and fortunately I don't spend much time here...

P.S. I thought the movie was great; had it's laugh-out-loud moments, and never got boring. Just the one gripe though; Sometimes the 'addition' of JB into the footage looked worse than some lower budget films from 10 years ago. The only gripe BTW, and not one to detract from my enjoyment one iota.

Cheers.

Don't feed 'em!

A lot of these movies are intended for children, yet adults have this need to watch them and trash them.

It's the comedy matter.
Look at "Spongebob Squarepants". It's one of the funniest films I've ever seen and yet there are many many people that just don't see anything in that kind of humor.
Same thing with the "ZAZ" movies. Or "South Park".
Then you have "Shakespeare in Love" or something like that which, I guess, many people found very funny. I didn't even laugh once.
I guess the taste of humor that everyone has is in many ways so divert that you'll never have something like a universal comedy.
I guess that's probably why you will hardly find a comedy in the imdb's Top 250 list.
I personally don't care. I laughed, I had a good time, I let the others watch "Shakespeare in Love". Or "Notting Hill". Or whatever...

I couldn't have put it better DK. I recommended Megamind on my facebook page and a friend of mine took my advice and fell asleep twice trying to watch it. Made me think twice about recommending stuff, but then again, comedies are also about the state of mind you're in at the time too.

I've stopped many movies part way through because I just didn't laugh once. The same film after a good day out with mates and I've laughed my ass off at the same movie.

This looks like a good place for me to mention that I would have been interested in viewing a new production of Jonathon Swift's story.

But, with Black and Siegel in the leads? Come on.

Perhaps the OP just wants to reach out for some sense of community.

It's hilarious that this is the movie that made this IMDB user aware that the IMDB message boards were full of trolls
