Question about Dave *Spoilers*

At the end was it trying to show that he had some kind of epiphany and gained a moral conscience by becoming a solar power salesman?

Or was it trying to show that he is still an unscrupulous character who is still going to rip people off? Once a scumbag salesman etc.

Or it could be ambiguous on purpose.

What do you think?

I took it as a sly dig at the Green movement in that Green consumerism could be just another scam exploited by the Daves of this world.

Definitely the second one.

Don't believe for a mo' Dave has changed. Still the same slimy *beep*
Loved it tho, to hear him talk about his concerns for his children's and grandchildren's future. If you believe that, then I can sell you a discount mortgage...

It seems the general consensus is that he remains a scumbag.

I personally think this is an excellent piece of filmmaking because I can actually identify with the character of Dave, as I have known a few slimeballs like him in my life.
He really seems like a person who would say something like, "I can sell ice to the eskimos!" Twat.

Definitely.

A clever and sly dig for me.
Also showing Dave is a salesman scumbag - but whilst most salesmen are like that to succede it's a bit too one dimensional, afterall these people are harassed and bullied themselves if they fail to make the grade they are sacked pure and simple, whilst Dave lacks scruples to an extent he is simply a victim of his curcumstances too if that makes snese.
Yes he is greedy but he is encouraged - indeeed demanded to be so.
