Washed up actors trying to be relevant again

Most of these people haven't worked in years. Pretty good way to get "rediscovered".
I was kidnapped by a pack of mimes. They performed unspeakable acts on me

Sad, but true.

You know I have heard this argument time and time again. everybody is saying it. But I disagree with the logic of it. Just because these are "washed up" actors does not necessarily mean that the stories are fake or that they didn't experience them. look at it realistically, just because some long forgotten 80's tv star gets a gig to do CGS doesn't mean that he has revived his career or has now gotten noticed again. Yes some producer is watching CGS and goes "hey! Pia Zadora! wow I forgot about her, lets hire her for our new show". why would they bother to do this just to 'Get noticed again"? who is going to notice them? 80% of people watching it probably don't even know who they hell these people are

but sure, some of them probably havn't had a decent paycheck for a while so why not do CGS for a quick buck. I"m sure that happens. so my guess is some are totally fake and either made up stories or real stories that they just read from a script so they can get a quick 10K or whatever they pay them but some of them probably are real experiences that they have had and never told anybody. the ones where they are remembering something that happened when they were 6 I don't give much credence to but others you can tell, they are not acting when they get quite emotional.

you can't just use "They are all washed up actors" as a blanket explanation for this show. that is just too simplistic

yeah, there's something there to your reasoning actually. And I was also thinking.... ok, so they're 'washed-up' actors, so WHY even get back ON TV just mention a story and say "I believe in ghosts" and help that Hollywood popularity meter, go..........down. A few may have come on the show, for the 'heck of it', but half of them may have the stench of truth to it.

yah really, they risk being looked at as a flake. also, I wonder how many of them really are that desperate for a paycheck anyway.some of them I"m sure have plenty of money and don't need it.

but I like this show because unlike a lot of so called ghost shows, they don't involve "orbs" and usually don't involve stuff like demon spirits causing scratches on skin or possessions or semi-violent happenings. that sort of fringe stuff I don't believe. these stories or cases are just people seeing an apparition of say a child in period clothing that had died in the 1860's or something which could be a real ghost or spirit, or could be a recording type thing or could be seeing into another dimension or something, not demon devils bent on scratching us humans.

I will admit, something about CGS does intrigue me, the stories themselves, and the actors coming down to more 'our level', for a moment just to mention something that may be true (or not) concerning possibly the paranormal. I wish I could catch more of reruns of CGS...plus having kids under 10, they tend to nearly believe everything they see on TV. They're getting better about not believing it all... plus when it comes to the re-enactments, I wish they'd do more old-school camera work instead of all the flashy, static, and crazy sound effects crap. That just brings down the believability to me...

Washed up yet they have still achieved more in life than you ever have.
