Signed. Can't believe they would shut the message boards down. That's been a feature for ten years and the only reason I got an account in the first place. There's no reason for me to come to IMDB if they take the message boards! I support a revamp not a removal...

I think that should be an integral part of a website like this...

Where else are you supposed to go to discuss media in this kind of format? Anyone know?

reply

I have no idea!

reply

Blame the trolls..they ruined it for everyone.

Goodbye everyone

reply

Exactly.

250 million users worldwide, Watch the users decline IMDB.

reply

What good is IMDB now?

reply

Where can I go and talk about Zak's "sexy" gas mask...?! Or, the way he pronounces "stairs"...? Hmmm...?!?!

reply

I know! I'll miss you most, Popedon1! Some others on the boards have been talking about other online forums that are IMDB-esque. Perhaps we can join and discuss Zak's outfits and language-massacres? 😜

reply

I'll miss your rants about Arizona. 

Have a good one.

reply

I realize my rants were over the top. But they were 100% accurate! To be fair, it's been quite some time since I've mentioned that place. 😀

reply

Thanks, Heidi. I'll miss you, too. :*(

Maybe Youtube...?! One good thing about YT is you can post ANYTHING. Me likey-likey that. It's not the same "message board" thang, but you can post comments under the episode that I'm sure someone will upload. "Ghost Adventures" even has their own channel. It actually could be better! How's THAT for optimism?!

You know Heidi, if those two slugs, Nick & ( ( KATRINA! ) ) can pretend to be scared, and pretend to stay 72hrs -- that's over a week, right? -- in a haunted location, and talk about their... FEELING$, well, we can too!

I think we should make a "promo vid", as we say in the "biz", and just wipe the linoleum with those, pardon my language, "scaredy babies". I CAUNT (as we say in Massadooschits) imagine another "leading lady", as we say in the "biz", than you, I'd rather work with. Nor another "leading man" I'd rather work with than ME. Let's run some lines, shall we? We'll work on our "improv" skills later. This is just a rough first draft I'm writing off the top of my head. I'm sure we won't have to change a syllable... You play "Heidi", and I'll play "Don". I'll leave my title out till the end of the episode when I exorcise any demon, ghost, shadow person, mothman, heebie-jeebie, jinn, ferocious under-bed dust bunny, whatever monster, etc.

(Interior of an old home. Dimly lit. An exceptionally good-looking man, wearing a gas mask, is in a panic.)

DON: ( ( HEIDI! ) ) ( ( HEIDI! ) )

HEIDI: Don! Are you okay?

DON: NO! Would I be screaming if I were?!

HEIDI: What's the matter?

DON: I, I, I...

HEIDI: Yes...?

DON: S-s-s-saw, saw... saw...

HEIDI: What?

DON: A... a... a...

HEIDI: This is really stupid.

DON: A SHADOW! OKAY? I SAW A SCARY SHADOW! IT COULD'VE BEEN A SHADOW PERSON! If it moved. And was shaped like a person.

That's just the first minute of our show!! We could call it, DEAD OF NIGHT. What do you think?! Will this grab 'em, or what?! And we'll both have flashlights!

reply

Hmmmmm.... I think if we wanna compete with Nick and Kat, we need more than flashlights. Budget will be an issue, but *I* want my OWN damn talking space-heater wrapped in tinsel and wire with a purple crystal screwed on! But, it's got to be BIGGER than theirs! After all, bigger is better! And, I'll be sure to ask you if you're okay in multiple *other* ways - several times each episode - besides just "Are you okay?", so I seem more intelligent than Katrina.

...And, you can wear the best Haute Couture gas masks. That'll beat Zaky-poo! They can't possibly be too expensive, even if designed by Prada or Hermes, right?

By the way, you're giving away your age by writing "caunt" as the pronunciation in MA because *only* the oldies still give the words "can't" and "bathroom" that 1953 pseudo-British spin. 😂 There's a name for that exact sound given by Boston-ites to a few specific words, but even language-nerds like me forget some tiny nuances. I do know that people born after the 1950s rarely use that colloquialism, so the mystery of Don deepens...Will you be too old by Hollywood standards to get hired for a new show?😜 Oh, never mind; that double standard applies only to *women*! 😫 I'm over 40, so maybe I should just produce or direct...You know, BEHIND the camera stuff. Crows' feet have no place in ghost hunting!

Don't worry, though. Nick, despite currently living in MA and growing up in NH, has lost much of his New England accent. Except for his "bawdy" for "body" and "haih" for "here", one rarely hears any semblance of New England anymore. Certainly, you'll have him beat in that regard. I KNOW you will, and I've never heard you speak! By the way...Have you ever seen the Seth Meyers movie trailer spoof for the ficticious movie "Boston Accent"? It had me rolling on the floor! Find it on YouTube. You'll even see my plethora of comments there! I thought of you when I saw it. How about the fake SNL Dunkin' Donuts ad with Casey Affleck? Hilarious and on-point! Look up that one, too!

I know you've mentioned Nick's neck before. I don't see it being unusually long. Perhaps your TV has that funhouse effect? Or maybe you're just fascinated by long body parts? 😝

I now follow IMDB on Twitter. I wonder if we can post specific trash on specific shows like we do here. I'm game for using YouTube as well. I already use it to make many comments on videos posted by The Voice. (I'm a freakish superfan of The Voice). I'm not as excited as you about the lack of comment-monitoring on YouTube, though. I have been the recipient of evil when one guy wrote to me "I hope you get raped by a (insert racial slur here)." What caused him to say that to me? My 'crime"was that I wrote to someone else - not even addressing him - in Spanish! YouTube did nothing, even though I reported him with his own quotes multiple times. I mean, the upside to lack of admin is that I get to cuss like a sailor. I block evil trolls immediately now, and that helps.

I also signed up for a site called "Previously TV". I'm really not tech-savvy (at all), so I haven't learned how to navigate the site, find the forums, and/or post yet. In my defense, I just signed up last night, though. People on another IMDB message board mentioned that site as an alt for IMDB.

If you want, send me your email info in a private message here on IMDB before it gets closed down. We can keep in touch that way, too, if you want. No pressure, of course. But if we're going to start this new cutting-edge show, we've got to bouce ideas off of one another, and get on the same page! 😆

reply

I really like your high-end style, Heidi. I hope this isn't TOO personal to share, but since we'll be sharing haunted houses together; I give you first dibs on all basements & attics, because I'm a gentleman. But when you mentioned a Hermes gas mask, well, all 6 of my nipples practically poked-through my negligee! <blush>

Do you think Hermes really makes gas masks?! That would be SO cool. I really think you have to have the face to pull-off a gas mask, don't you?

Oh, gee, I should apologize. I didn't know that was you on YT! When I wrote "I hope you get raped by a big ******* ******", I was only kidding. Gosh, you're real sensitive, huh?!

Just in case you're bumming out now, I'm kidding about all of the above. I KNOW Hermes doesn't make gas masks. Duh.

Seriously, I've "met" some of the scariest, most funked-in-the-head humanoids on YT. But I've also "talked" to some really, really nice, smart people, too. Like us! I really like comment boards. I love YT because you can say ANYTHING, express yourself in anyway you want, without power-crazed moderators treating you like a child. But, I can understand why you'd feel offended by someone saying THAT. I experimented twice on 2 other comment boards. On one I used a pseudonym that a black woman might use. That was a fake news sight. On another site, a hobby site, I used a generic pseudonym, but used a really beautiful pic of a white woman as the avatar. And, NO, I wasn't catfishing, or what ever you'd call THAT. This was truly a sociological experiment. And, the way I was treated surprised me and didn't surprise me. As "the black chick", I got away with murder w/ some of the things I wrote. That DIDN'T surprise me. As the "pretty white chick", on the hobby site, I was a little surprised how condescending the majority of the men were. The membership was mostly men, even though it's a hobby attractive to both genders (or, all 3 now?! ;). A very few seemed to go out of their way to be nice. But I did think "posing" as a female poster was more of a handicap. And that really surprised me.

A couple months ago I posted a comment to someone on YT. I complimented their avatar, which was a pic of the most ferocious-looking black pitbull. The poster's name was something masculine-sounding, and even their comment was something a "tough guy" might post. Well, a few days later that person posted back and said, "thanks, that's my dog, he was a rescue, a fighting dog that's had a tough life...etc." So I wrote back something pertinent about my dog, and got a reply about the topic we were there posting on, and I found out she was a lady. And I thought, wow, she is VERY wise to ID herself in that way. Because some guys really DO "sack hurd" -- see why I hate THIS?! -- and it should be about the ideas you're on the sight commenting about rather than these "farking" avatars. That's why I don't even have a pic in any of my avatars (except for the "pretty white chick" one), although I use my name. Maybe next time I'll use a neutral name (or not).

You know, regarding age to be a "ghost hunter", I honestly don't think looks matter in the ghost hunting/reality show genre. Not that I don't think 40something you, and ageless me won't be able to provide the "pretty". I just think for this sub-genre of "reality show" it's superfluous. Even though he is, I never think of Zak as good-looking. Maybe because I've watched him for so long. There's an old saying about how some people never look better than the first time you meet them, but I don't remember how it goes. And look how that's really wasted on that type of show? It's superfluous. Although, maybe that's how he got his show in the first place. I have no doubt there are "casting couches" for the TV industry, just like the movie biz. And, if it comes to that, I will make the ultimate sacrifice... and let YOU negotiate! Nyuk, nyuk, nyuk. (Although, I'm just this minute fantasizing about him in front of his Lugosi Meer, wearing nothing but a Hermes gas mask, and pasties with tassels. And he's trying to swing both tassels in opposite directions...) And I never think of Nick as being good-looking. (Sorry, LetsTalkAboutThat ;) Maybe you gals are push-overs for an abnormally looong necks, but I'm not. Honest, I wasn't even looking. I just couldn't miss it. Morlock saw "it" too. How anyone could miss THAT...

There used to be a really good TV site called TVRage, but that went down, got back up, then the last time I tried, was down again. I tried the imdb2/freeforums someone here was nice enough to suggest. I made it as far as "the table of contents" -- there's about 6000 options. But I'm gonna try it. Check out Ghost Adventure's channel on YT. I think PL has a channel too. I'm going to check to see if Dead Files has a channel. What'd ya think of the new Dead Files? Amy's like a breath of fresh crypt air compared to Nick & KATRINA!, huh...? Bye for now. ;9)B

^^Sorry. I used the word "superfluous" twice. But I wasn't trying to show-off. (It means, "wicked pissah", right?!)^^

@Popedone1~ Here's the YouTube vid of the Seth Meyer's movie trailer spoof for the fake movie "Boston accents". Oddly, Seth gets a couple of words wrong here; he should know that Boston Accent better than I do...Isn't he FROM Beantown? Anyway, if you watch it at face value for humor's sake and don't nitpick (I didnt the first through third times), you'll probably get a good giggle out of this! I sure did! It really hits home! Its commentary on movies with settings in Boston are spot on!

To make a URL clickable, in the editor highlight the entire URL and then press the Link button once. That will place these around the URL: In this case, it would look like this in the editor: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLwbzGyC6t4Once posted it would look like this in the thread:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rLwbzGyC6t4

P.S. I cleaned up the provided URL by removing the ID.
