Questions?

Did they ever say where Jennifer worked??? She was really hard on what Vince did but I never found out??

Also.....other questions....why didn't Jennifer just ask her friends and/or family for her house stuff? I'm sure they would've helped her out.

Loved the movie though!!

I missed bits and pieces during the second showing last night, (was watching the mash reunion on tvland and ran across this during commercials for that, earlier) but from what I saw, they never said.

Also, furnishing a new place from nothing is expensive. you can't expect to ask friends and family to help out. especially when some of them have families of their own or have just gotten married.

at the very begining of the movie she was moving out of a place we assume she had been renting for years. Her gay friend was either a roommate, or just there to help her move. He was the one that left the keys in the truck resulting in it being stolen.

but she said she was broke now that she has her new place. They even show her checkbook register early on in her new place, after she paid bills and she only has 300 something dollars in there and a bill that won't get paid due to lack of funds.

I wondered that at some point, but soon realized it didn't matter. Would have introduced more characters that would have cluttered the storyline.

Here's lookin' at you, kid!

OoOoH thanks. Wished they would've given her some employment or occupationa, it gives her character more substance!

I wish they would have had her react a little differently...or maybe not differently...but at all to the fact that she just lost all of her possessions with the exception of a few pillows. I'm pretty sure if that happened to me, I would be freaking out like no other and I wouldn't just be hung up about my coffee maker.

Except maybe it's a message...that that's how we all should live...we shouldn't be so attached to our belongings that if they ALL were stolen, the only thing that would worry us was the fact that the coffee maker went with them.

I would have thought that a more logical reaction would have been to ask her parents to help her buy stuff for her apartment rather than allowing them to pay for a fake wedding. Weddings are easily $25k these days, that money could've been put to great use furnishing her new apartment. But whatever, that would've made a pretty terrible movie I guess.

I couldn't figure out where she got all the clothes she was wearing? I mean, everything was stolen but throw pillows...and she had on different clothes everyday. Her mom even mentioned a dress she bought her that she was wearing. If EVERYTHING was stolen...then she wouldn't have had any clothes/makeup/toiletries either but they don't address that. And it would have been understandable that her mom bought her the dress after she knew her stuff was stolen...but her parents DIDNT know...so I don't understand. Like you said, weddings ere EXPENSIVE. I pinched pennies on mine and still spent 11k. I don't think most people get THAT much back in wedding gifts... But I guess she wouldn't have been able to ask her parents for her wedding fund to replenish her apartment so she had to get married? oh well...I loved the movie so much despite some parts not making sense.

Quite simply, it's a movie. It doesn't have to make sense.

In real life, though, I had that exact thing happen to me... moving and every last box stolen. I had moved stuff to the new apartment. Spent the night in the old apartment. Only had to move the mattress and a trunk load of stuff. When I got to the new apartment the next day - everything-was-gone. The management had not changed the locks as required by law.

I reacted kind of similar. I was upset, I was angry. But remained pretty calm. But what else could I do? Getting bent out of shape wasn't going to help. I pressed charges and went out and spent money I didn't have to spend on clothing and such. Slept on the mattress on the floor for quite sometime. My belongings were never recovered.

What else can you?

OMG - that was so many years ago.
