i love this movie but spoilers ahead

the parents are paying for their grandchildren's college? i thought her sister had a perfect hubby w/a great job and she does well herself; i mean they bragged about the sister and her husband/kids like they had it ALL... i just think that its not the grandparents obligation to pay for their grandkid's college -- that should be the parents who have a fund set up for them... that is one part of the movie i didn't like - i mean yeah my parents helped me and my hubby when we first had our first child - bought us extra things we may have needed and gave us money if things were tight; but we NEVER expected them to have a "college fund" for our kids -- their are such things as TOPS for kids who do well in high-school, its a great program and other programs as well for kids who need it -- i kno its just a movie but it just kinda made me feel bad for the daughter who was getting married - parents pay for the daughter's wedding - its traditional. i don't care if it was a fake wedding that little part in the movie pissed me off..

I know it was an unnecessary silliness added for drama purposes that just takes away from a good story rather than add to it, was lame.

Some grandparents enjoy being able to help the grandkids pay for their college. We did. Our grandkids are 5 and 3 and their college education is already paid for. We loved being able to help. Haven't watched the movie...did it seem they felt obligated?
