Not that good Melissa & Joey movie, but with some very sweet moments

I love Melissa & Joey and I had no idea they made a movie together until recently when I finished the TV series and searched for the actors' filmography and I found this movie! This film seems like the incentive for the TV show Melissa & Joey (2010-2015). The characters they play in this TV movie have many similarities with the characters that Melissa and Joey play in the TV show: both Vince and Joey are seen cooking in the kitchen and give Mel food, both Jennifer and Mel are seen with glasses of wine in their hand, the snarky comments - the sarcastic back and forth, the hate turned into attraction pretty quickly etc. They have very good chemistry on screen, so they can play a couple in any production.
This TV movie isn't very elaborate and it feels at times like an amateur work - the lack of/insufficient camera movements, simplistic dialogue, plain predictable plot etc. However, some may like this because it makes the film more realistic ('cause real life is plain and predictable).
I thought I'd be very disappointed by this film, but in the ending it picked up. Their tiny bit of physical contact and romantic gestures were carefully dealt with so that they didn't seem forced like in other romantic comedies. It also kinda made me realize some of the things that women actually look for in men and make them fall in love with them - be caring, be nice with kids, know to cook, be nice with the parents etc. even if you don't have money.
Overall, a nice light summer afternoon TV movie to watch.
