What parts of the movie made you cry or made you want to cry?

For me, I would say, pretty much every sad scene (there are so many that I do not know where to start), I will say this though;

The two scenes that got me the most were the little boy's funeral, and the little girl who had lost a brother (and was there to witness it), as we see them visit the grave every day.

So many parts I lost count.

The pain that almost everyone in the movie is going through made the movie almost unbearable to watch at times

Mikey going back into the barber shop that he stuck up and then working at his first real job was really touching to me.

Pretty much any scene with someone making an effort to turn their life around was very touching.

I didn't cry during the movie and didn't feel the need to. While I do think it's excellent what these guys are doing, my overarching sentiment while watching was one of hopelesness. I just thought despite all their efforts they are barely touching the core of the problem. Which, of course, is not their fault.
To end this cycle of violence a lot more is needed than a bunch of well-meaning volunteers.

@TheSummer2012...I agree with you BUT it's SOMETHING.Kind of like when there's no hope these volunteers give you a touch of hope.But yeah,there was alot of times when I felt it was hopeless too but look this great documentary just reminds you of how bad it is in someplaces and that should make you think and just be a better person.So the fact that we are posting on a thread of this movie is something,anything.

As someone who has taught in Chicago, and once I get back into the US this summer, will hopefully be teaching there again, almost the whole movie. These stories ring so close to home for me and the fear that someday I will have to go to a student's funeral makes me sad every time. It was safe to say nearly every 5-10 minutes I was either tearing up out of sadness, or out of hope because of what people are willing to do to save these communities.

You know what, I mistook me for somebody else.

The part when Eddie Bocanegra is driving around the neighborhood and stopping at the location where he shot and killed someone. Also all the dialog in the car leading up to this scene and then him driving away, was very moving.
