It was like Dynasty: The Reunion

Remember that? The show ended with all these storylines unresolved, and no closure.

So they did a miniseries where basically everybody won, and all the conflicts between the characters were ironed out, and they all lived happily ever after.

And nobody ever watched Dynasty again.

Now, RP and Dynasty don't have much else in common. But sometthing tells me RP isn't going to have a long life in syndication either.

If you want people to keep watching the show, ALWAYS leave some balls in the air, guys.

Cardinal42 you were wrong as usual

reply

A now-irrelevant datum, that Cardinal42 will simply refuse to acknowledge.

Would you like some Preparation-H for all the butt-hurt you're going through right now over being so heinously WRONG???

Go ahead, try to weasel your way out of being so ridiculously wrong. Even though every last person saw this finale coming but you and you insulted every last person for thinking that way.

BTW, Psych never went into syndication, and it had more episodes than either Burn Notice or Royal Pains. Nor did White Collar last long in syndication and that had fewer episodes. BTW, why hasn't Suits gone into syndication? It has enough episodes to do it.

Past seasons are available on Netflix and Amazon Prime. So they're making money that way instead of syndication.

I have satelite and nothing is ever on..

Well then.. Maybe you should get Netflix and Prime. Hulu even..

reply

Reportedly, it was renewed for the last few seasons for syndication reasons.

Remember, syndication is world-wide, and it probably is showing elsewhere in the world.

Can't believe you didn't say "She said balls"!!!

FYI, White Collar is still in syndication on Universal...I watch it every chance I get, as one can never get too much Matt Bomer!

What don't you get? CLOO and USA are both owned by NBC Universal.

Honestly, it was never great. Paige was not a good addition to the show, but I guess some people liked her--the ratings didn't fall ENTIRELY because Jill Flint wasn't there. The premise just wore itself out over time, as tends to happen with most TV shows.

Seems like I'm too negative here even for you--trust me--they left NOT ONE ball in the air, so I guess by your standards, you missed a great finale.

Or--did you?

Which is a horrible show. I tried to watch it for Jill Flint's sake, but they barely use her, and her character is dull.

How many times now have you posted about this finale you didn't watch?

reply

The reason they kept renewing Royal Pains even after Jill left because the ratings were still good .

reply

They were a lot better before. And it wasn't just about Jill Flint--the show really began to drag, and they got into a lot of bad storylines that didn't work.

However, a show on cable has to get really low ratings to be canceled.

What does the "R" in Evan's middle name mean? Did they ever reveal it?

reply

Ridiculous. 
