Just two issues with the film...

Overall I enjoyed the movie. The acting was very good and Jenna Fisher is pretty and has a "girl next door" look. I just had two issue with film.

First was the sex scene with casual date and Fisher being fully clothed. I saw and interview with director Adriane Lynne (Fatal Attraction) and said that during a sex scene he always insists on at least some nudity from the actors. This isn't for titillation purposes, but give realism to the scene.

Second is Fisher came real close to hooking up with her sister's husband. I can see that happening with s friend but your own sibling? If my brother was married to Charlize Theron and opportunity presented itself I wouldn't do that to my brother.

You obviously like your brother. That's probably the biggest reason you wouldn't cheat with his spouse.

But Fisher didn't like her sister at all. Neither did anyone else in the movie either, for that matter. That makes it okay, to some degree.

I wouldn't do that to my brother either but sisters aren't brothers I guess. Also, she is pretty damn desperate at this point. But I agree that it isn't totally believable, especially the scene under the gazebo where the sister's husband starts hitting on Jenna talking about childhood stories. I liked the scene and the complicity of the characters but I didn't buy it. Seriously, marrying the sister of the girl he is in love with? Not that common.

I wouldn't say it was unbelievable at all. When people cheat, they're not always thinking about what relationships they're destroying. Cheating is generally a self-centered act even when it involves revenge. It doesn't matter whether the siblings are brothers or sisters. It's more common than you think especially amongst siblings who despise each other.

I honestly felt the crappy date, near cheating, and acceptance of the smaller settlement were how we see her progress and become an adult. She bangs a dbag hoping to lock down a man, contemplates stealing her brother-in-law, takes the settlement, and then makes the mature decision with her brother-in-law. By the end she is becoming a better person.

I think Fisher being fully clothed during the sex scene was meant to show how unromantic and crappy the sex was. The guy obviously didn't care about her, finished then got up and basically kicked her out of his car when he dropped her off.

I totally agree! the scene called to memory a date or two that id like to forget... haha

Translation:
I am a really good person who loves his siblings, so everyone else in the world should be, but if Jenna Fischer is in a sex scene, I want to see her boobs.

It's not cool at all, but I've known several people that have had affairs with sibling's spouses. It happens a lot more often than you realize. In my 53 years, I've even met two different couples that not only had affairs but married the sibling's spouse. I bet those were great holiday dinners. One was my best friend's parents, we were 12. The dad left her mom for her mom's sister. The other was a guy I worked with. His wife left him for his brother. It happens.
