10 out of 10 rating?

Has any one actually seen this movie? I love Jackie Chan just as much as the the next guy, but how do you rate a movie that you haven't seen?

Near Dark was great.

The movie has started showing in Singapore on 11 Feb 2010 and will be showing in Mainland China on 14 Feb 2010. And, the movie is miles better than his Hollywood outings and a lot more coherent than The Myth. It's not an all out laughter-inducing and/or fight/stunt-filled film, though they have their moments. It's really a dark comedy with a meaning ending that makes the film a quality watch! It could easily get 7 out 10. And, among JC's recent projects, it could easily be 8 to 9 out 10. Of course, just my opinions.

i just saw it today in the theatres

7/10 becoz the story is quite boring

i'm not saying the acting is bad, in fact, i prefer jackie? in this movie, no longer just fighting for the sake of showing off his carefully choreographed moves

whole movie would be better if they could improve on the plot

just like those countless chinese war movies that are being churned out nowadays. if its not donnie yen its jackie chan or some other equivalent.

this one stands out from the rest though as it is more focused on the story and the characters.

but in the end the plot is quite thin. and the action sequences are average.

also if u are looking for intense action or epic battle scenes u shld avoid this movie.

6/10

What's more dangerous than sincere ignorance?

Some movies never have a chance of screening in some countries. A movie comes out in Bluray in some country while it has not even been screened in some other country so the only solution is the internet if you know what I mean. As long as the Bluray comes out the rips drop on the net. Some people may have voted by this way. 8/10 from me.

stacked voting.

the film has issues, it mixes seriousness, brutality/violence and war with comedy. so the sillyness really dulls any potential emotional impact because it just doesn't feel like it fits, its like a movie cobbled together of genres that conflict.

Same thing with La Vita e Bella.
And I liked both movies. You can chalk it up to personal preference, I guess, but I don't think all war movies should necessarily be depressing all throughout.
