Can't beat Jaron Namir - HELP!!!

I am at a total loss as to what to do here. I am playing on "Give Me Deus Ex" difficulty and I was foolish enough to have my chip replaced, so I have no access to my augs. I am armed to the teeth, however. I have a machine gun, laser rifle, a two frag mines, plus one concussion grenade and two EMP grenades, each.

The problem is, Jaron is way too fast and way too deadly. It seems like once he catches sight of me, its parti fini. I can never get in a position where I can concentrate all my firepower on him and he has more than enough protection to simply wear me down.

I have read all across the Internet for tips on how to beat him. Someone even suggested that I bring along the hacked turret that was available at the start of the stage to the battle. I have no idea how he would have done that - the turret disappears once the battle actually begins. I have also attempted numerous times to take advantage of the "takedown bug," but he very rarely jumps over the wall to where I am at. If I go chasing after him or expose myself, he gets me.

This is probably the most difficult boss fight I have ever encountered in any game. No other boss in any game is no aptly able to beat you without even a fight.

Laser rifle?

I was able to use that to take him down (though I had my augs).

You know how you can blindy spray gunfire from behind cover? You can do that with the laser rifle, and since it is a constant stream you can aim it without even ducking out of cover.

Catch Namir with a bit of distance between you (maybe you can use the mines to herd him where you need him) and lay into him with that, as long as you have enough ammo a direct stream will down him after 10 seconds or so. I seem to remember he flinches from it so he doesn't dart off and you can keep it firing. That was the easiest way I found to take him down, even if its a little lame.

The problem is that even when I am behind cover, Namir is way too quick so it is hard to get a constant laser stream on him for ten seconds.

I finally realized why the turret "disappears" - when the battle begins, you are placed on the other side of the room from where you came in. But even then, Namir uses his cloak so aptly that the turret never actually catches him.

If you sprint around the room he might lose track of you. I remember doing that quite a bit, though maybe it was my cloak aug that got me the distance of the room in between us for the laser rifle to be effective. At least when your behind cover he wont be spamming the plasma rifle at you. Maybe stun him with an EMP and sprint to the other side of the room.

Correction - I have only one EMP and I can never get in a good enough position to actually use it. The moment I expose myself, he gets a plasma shot off and I die.

I have the DLC that allows me the grenade launcher, but I do not know where to enter the code, so I am unable to use that also.

You can toss grenades the same way I suggested using the laser rifle, so you shouldn't have to expose yourself to toss one.

If Namir acts anything like Yelena than he should avoid paths you placed mines in, so you ought to be able to herd him to one side, its just keeping the distance between that would be tricky.

I used two fully upgraded typhoons on him and mission accomplished.....cheap i know, but effective lol.

Hey all,

I finally beat Namir!!! But... I got lucky.

The biggest problem I had in defeating Namir was the fact that the turret was of no help. It never detected him and thus never got involved in the fight. On top of that, none of my augmentations worked because I had my chip replaced. But I did have the jump aug and it still worked and by jumping on top of the walls, it somehow forced Namir to become exposed to the turret and it just opened up on him. I then took my laser rifle and just poured it on him and did not let up until he went down. When he finally did, I gave the biggest double fist-pump of my lifetime.

Thanks to everybody for all your help!
