Is this anyone else's DREAM cast?

Well ok my dream cast would be a bit different but this cast is AMAZING.

I love David Tennant, Eddie Redmayne, Christopher Lee, Bill Nighy, Julie Christie, Romola Garai, Jeremy Northam, Charlie Cox and Hugh Bonneville.

This is like the most stellar of a British cast with so much up-and-coming, established and old school talent.

I almost KNOW this will be amazing on cast alone, I haven't even looked at the synopsis yet. xD

JESSIE There, now I cn change my ID as often as I damn well please.

Brilliant cast. And the mere thought that Bill Nighy is working with Poliakoff again - that means getting the best on both sides. I can't wait!

When I look like this I'm funny. When I look like this I'm not.

Great cast. Im a fan of Julie Christie, i love her work and her as a woman, talented and beautiful actress, one of the best british actresses today. And im a fan of Chris Lee also, specially his work in the Hammer films. The young cast is promising and Bill Nighy is always a great actor. I cant wait for this film.

reply

It is a great cast and I look forward to seeing this hopefully next year.

OH YES! THIS IS A DREAM CAST:
SCREEN LEGEND and CLASSIC ICON JULIE CHRISTIE paired up with one of the most talented leading men today, BILL NIGHY! ROMOLA GARAI in the lead role, who was the most understated yet the most touching and luminous performance in ATONEMENT!
And let's not forget there are also 2 CULT ACTORS as well: the legendary Christopher Lee and the great Jenny Agutter- welcome back in a A LIST picture!
And everybody else too! The younger cast is one of the most promising and fascinating mix of new british folks ever!
And also Hugh Bonneville,David Tennant...
I just think they should have found a role for Rupert Everett, too! :)
CAN'T WAIT for THIS MOVIE!!!
I just HOPE It's GONNA BE AS GOOD AS IT SOUNDS!!!
Then it could be a real new little MASTERPIECE!!!! A TRUE GEM!
It will be,and it is already, one of the movies i will be mostly waiting for in 2009! :)

Totally - even more exciting now Dame Maggie Smith is attached to the picture! Although it's rumoured - I think whent his project was originally announced MAggie Smith was mentioned as being attached. I hope there are some scenes with her and Julie! and Eddie Redmayne - I think those two would play brilliantly off one another!

reply

Definitely. Amazing.

I respect your opinion, but personally, I admire her since "Angel" and "Vanity Fair".

but....I'm very happy if Maggie Smith is really in the cast !!! yippeeeeeeeee!

reply

I've only ever seen Romola in Atonement and the movie itself ( I thought) was rather disappointing considering the reviews...but certainly better than the horrendous Oscar winner No Country for Old Men...ugh!!

She is however a lovely young woman and I hope with this cast that "1939" is a winner.

Romola was great in 'I Capture the Castle', 'Rory O'Shea Was Here' and 'Atonement'!

reply

This WOULD have been my dream cast, but now that Maggie Smith doesn't seem to be in it, it's not as appealing to me....

reply

Odd...I wonder what happened with Maggie Smith? And if she's out, then who is playing the role now?

reply

Yea - great cast - shame about the writer/director.
Is it just me, or does anybody else find Poliakof to be a bit of a naked emperor?

reply

Maybe not my ultimate dream cast, but it is undeniably one that gets me excited - how much talent in one film??
