When will it air?

Like the title says.

Just wondering if someone had any info..

reply

I'd like to know this myself.

reply

Ditto.

I came to IMDB tonight to find out the same thing.

The article posted by CalendarGirl (kudos to her for spelling "calendar" correctly!) in a separate thread states that No Remorse wrapped filming in Halifax almost a year ago in November 2008.

Maybe the network is holding off broadcasting it until the November sweeps. If so, then they should announce it soon in order to promote it and build anticipation.

Maybe if we're lucky. There hasn't been an update since May. Look how long it took for the last movie to air.

reply

Yeah, I'm jonesing for another Stone movie.

me too bought the DVD's how about another how sad I'm I?

reply

I came to find out as well if there's been any news b/c there is currently another installment called "Jesse Stone: Innocents Lost" filming.

reply

I believe the Robert B Parker blog indicated that it is scheduled for "sometime later this year." That blog was written in May. And he says that (hooray) there is yet another Jesse Stone movie (number 7) that has started production Sept 8. He also says that if you see Parker and Tom Selleck together, it's confusing because they both have mustaches. Selleck, he says, is taller!
Selleck has said that he's up to keep making the Stone movies. And there are elements of the existing Jesse Stone novels not yet used, that I think could make up another movie.
The newest Jesse Stone novel, Split Screen, is going to be out in February 2010. There is, for you Spenser fans, Sixkill, in the works. Parker also says negotations on a "Spenser for Hire" series on TNT are ongoing. Any thoughts on casting? I'm thinking Dennis Haysbert as Hawk.

reply

It's just a guess, but I think it will air very soon, perhaps even on very short notice. Get your remote controls and popcorn out because with another one already in production they're bound to feel just fine about releasing No Remorse any day now!

This is just a theory and it should not be taken seriously. Just wishful thinking, I'm afraid.

Doesn't it just kill you that this isn't already a regular weekly series?

It won't be long now!

reply

I think if this were a regulary weekly series, people would lose interest.

Maybe we'll get to watch "No Remorse" next month.

reply

Wait another month, not "any day". November is a ratings month, that's the earliest it would air.

reply

Now I feel like a pathetic fool. How do we know this episode (no remorse) and the next one won't simply be canned for lack of interest? Maybe they'll never air. I'm trying, but it's getting harder and harder to resist losing my enthusiasm. I'm barely hanging on, here.

reply

haha take it easy Architekt, there's no way they're gonna can these movies. As far as I know they're getting great ratings and they have no reason to do that. Hang in there =)

reply

I believe this is slotted by CBS to air in first quarter 2010. Probably a Sunday, and probably after the Grammys and Super Bowl, but not sure. "Thin Ice" aired on March 1 of 2009 so I'm guessing it'll be around the same time. (After Winter Olympics are over on NBC as well.)

Meanwhile, "Thin Ice" is being re-aired on 12/27p 8-10p ET. There's an NFL doubleheader during the afternoon so if you're setting a DVR, give it an extra hour to allow for football overrun. :)

reply

Good call on the extra hour for DVR. Unfortunately, no help for me since I just read this NOW. My recording is missing the ending of the show. Bummer.

Maybe my public library has it on DVD.

reply

I think these two, both-completed "Jesse Stone's" are a victim of the Jay Leno at 10 o'clock disaster. CBS has very little wiggle room in its schedule. Can't put them on Saturday night when no one is watching and doubt they'd want to risk putting them up against Sunday Night Football.
Our only hope is that TMZ is correct and Leno will return to Late Night after the Olympics and leave the 9-11 slot open for spot programming now and again. Adults might not only see Jesse but perhaps "The Unit" will be picked up by this CBS if they're smart.

reply

While Tom Selleck has already indicated that he enjoys portraying the character, he's also said he's not interested in a weekly series. But he did say he'd make as many "Stone" movies as CBS wanted.

The recent passing of author Robert B Parker does throw that into question. Of course, Selleck has done Thin Ice and No Remorse without Parker's writing and the series could probably continue indefinitely.

There are a couple of books that haven't been dramatized yet: "High Profile," "Night and Day," and "Stranger in Paradise." There are many elements of the other titles already filmed that were not incorporated in the made for TV movies that could still find their ways into future television movies. The story line, for instance, in "Trouble in Paradise" about the bank robbery wherein the Indian character "Crow" appears (and reappears in the "Stranger in Paradise" novel) could surface and would explain the disappearance of D'Angelo who was killed by the bank robbers.

Ratings indicate that the Stone movies are popular and why CBS doesn't seem to want to air them very often is a real puzzle to me.

I don't understand television programming executives.

Parker had said on his blog that TNT was negotiating with him about reviving the Spenser for Hire series. That would be super, especially if they stuck with the canon, instead of TV writers doing their thing with the character.

reply

Airing this Sunday @ 8 EST. 5/09/10

reply

If TNT is really considering remaking "Spenser: For Hire" I hope they commit to it in a way they failed to do when they bought the rights to make three TV movies of NBC's "The Pretender". They threw the first two films away over holidays (prime rerun periods) with no promotion, failed to make the third one, and left fans of 5 years hanging with all the storylines unresolved. I haven't watched TNT since.

The best actor I can think of to take the place of the late Robert Urich is Nathan Fillion. He's gotten to be the right age, he's the right physical description, and his ability to do action and Spenser's kind of humor is right off the page of Parker's books. Unfortunately he's probably trapped in the so-so "Castle" on ABC, where he's wasted. If there's a chance TNT might be willing to make TV movies only, I suppose Fillion could do both, assuming ABC didn't sign him to a contract that forbid it.

Tom Selleck is excellent as Jesse Stone, and deserves a lot of credit for taking an age-appropriate part and giving it his considerable best. I wish we could count on seeing him as this character four or five times a season, instead of waiting around year after year to see what the latest network bean counters think they want to do next with the franchise.

reply

If it is to be on CBS during 2009 - we are running out of time. Does anyone know what's happening with Jesse Stone 'already finished' TV movie? Does anyone have Tom's phone number? I'll call him! Thanks, Judith

reply

Next weekend, CBS is airing a Hallmark Hall of Fame movie, so I guess we'll have to wait until Februrary or May.

reply

damn it :@ so this wont air until 2010?? :(

reply

Looks like CBS only wants to air on movie a year. The last one aired in March, so maybe again this year. CBS has a tons of good movies to air between Jesse Stone and Hallmark Hall of Fame. I guess it's hard to choose which is more important.

reply

I was really hoping they'd do two a year, but then a part of me wants them to take it easy so we don't run out. Parker needs to get on the good foot and crank more of these puppies out.

Frankly, I just wish that the same care that is taken in making these would be taken in making something similar. I don't know if it's Selleck's influence or what, but these productions are on a whole other level than the usual TV movie stuff.

I just remembered that when "Innocents Lost" was being filmed last month, they had a room set up to film interviews...makes me wonder if they're preparing to just release it to dvd.

Hey man, do you know when it will air??????

Well we're still waiting. Hopefully early next year we'll get to see it.

reply

Well, I'm bummed. I thought I'd read here that the projected release date was November 2009 but November has come and gone and now I see no scheduled release date.

Since December is half gone I guess that means we wait until 2010.

Bummer, I've been waiting for this one . . . . . . ARG!

Like I said in an earlier blog, the last movie aired in March 2009, could be this happens with the next one.

I hope it is soon. Seeing tonight's "episode" again has me jonesing for the next!
