Sam Elliot in a romantic comedy?

That's .... weird...

nah...I can see it...he is set to play some sheriff type character...not far fetched for him

I like how he delivered the line about getting past all of the B.S. in a relationship and getting one with your lives together. Reminds me of the advice one of my uncles or grandparents would give.

Personally, I'd watch Sam Elliot read the phone book.

What a man!

It's okay, honey. I...I was just talking to the cornfield.

I've had the hots for him since Shadow Riders. That movie was my dream come true. Tom Selleck and Sam Elliot in the same movie together.

Completely agree. Love Sam Elliot.

Personally, I find (and always have) the idea of Hugh Grant as a "romantic lead" laughable. What woman finds that cluelessly sniveling, mincing, mumbling, doddering-with premature-senility act of his appealing? Modern Cary Grant, my ass. Next to Sam Elliott, Grant looks like a 6 year old incontinent English schoolboy who has just pissed his knickers.

I'm convinced Grant made a bargain with Beelzebub for movie stardom, and the Devil's asking price was his severed manhood in a small jar.

Hugh Grant is charming, good looking, and he can dance. He also knows how to deliver, dead-pan, hilarious lines and he doesn't mug for the camera. He's the absolute antithesis of someone like Robin Williams.

He never hogs the stage. His character always seems to be thoughtfully listening to the other characters. Tom Cruise he ain't. But - Grant would have made a super smooth killer in 'Collateral' if he were really buff, athletic and could maintain a mean, hard, cold demeanor for all of a movie. He might be able to pull it off.
