I don't think so. The way I saw it was that it was forming a telepathic bond. Maybe even letting the creature exert enough control to bring whatever it attacked back towards the ice.

I think once the got bit the manfish could track them down. I really do not think any connection was made but that. Because that idiots son was really sick and if it wasn't for daddy he would of been in a hospital. They didn't act any different.

When the mother was talking to the creature it showed all these visual flashes like the creature was seeing it. Everyone that was poisoned (except for the mother who ingested it so it wasn't in the bloodstream) saw like the creature and went back to the ice.

I like to know how the creature knew all of those flashbacks? I don't think it was in the bloodstream either.

That's what I wanna know too. How did the monster see all those flashbacks? Some of those flashbacks weren't from the POV of the monster or the infected people. So not only does the monster have the ability to live in cold water, walk on ice, cut people, and infect them, it also possesses the ability to see flashbacks of events it has never experienced. Pretty cool monster.
