Why did Klus stay in 'nam for 10 months
At first I thought it was because he didn't know how to work the suitcase, but I assume he figured out how to come back on his own. So why didn't he immediately come back?

shareI kind of thought that. But staying in a war because you like someone seems dubious. My first order of business as soon as I landed in the middle of a war would have been to come back... maybe it was love at first sight. But why not bring him back also? What was his endgame plan... to stay permanently back there if Dave survived? At this point I'm pretty sure I'm over thinking it, but seemed flimsy to me.
Also why would it take him to Vietnam of all the random locations?

shareWell, he didn’t really know anything about the briefcase and time travel So he was in a state of shock when he landed in Vietnam and was immediately suited up for war. With Klaus’ Carefree personality at first he was probably just ‘going with it’ for a little while and then he met Dave and probably just put the suitcase away because he didn’t want to risk being sent away from Dave.
Again, he didn’t know how it worked or that he could take Dave with him, for all he knew he could open up that case and be sent anywhere and he didn’t want to take the chance on being separated from the man he loved. If you’ve ever been in love like that . . . I’m certain that his endgame was indeed to stay with Dave forever if they survived.
As far as why he was sent to Vietnam, the suitcase belonged to assassins so maybe that was programmed to be there next hit, to fix a timeline in Vietnam in the 70’s.
