a disturbing amount of possible 9 or 10-star fake reviews as paid ads

After watching the series I felt like checking out the reviews and was surprised by the over-the-top writing in some of them. I just went through checking many of those posting histories that gave it a 9 or 10-star review... in most cases there's either only this show or one other on the account (the other review also raving about some other Netflix product).

The other strange thing is IMDB seems complicit... although the default sort for 'See all reviews' is by Helpfulness and ranked by 'number of people who found this review helpful', the first 13 ranked reviews (which also happen to give the show 9 or 10-stars) have less 'number of people....' than the 14th and onward reviews. It's as though the first 13 reviews, each being 9 or 10-stars, were pushed to the top as paid advertising.

I don't know about them but I definitely give it a "9" review.

The top motivation for reviewing a television show or movie is if you love it so I don’t find that strange. Also it was widely lauded by professional critics. It contains a lot of quality special effects and well written characters.
