Interesting....

Nobody watching this show?

I'm watching it right now and it's not really that cool. I'm watching the karate guys break bricks and get bamboo broken on their washboard abs.

They're all talking the brick-breaking guy up but they're totally forgetting that it's not hard to break these bricks because the concrete is mixed in a way that reduces its strength. Can't stand these karate master guys talking about "Chi" on what is supposed to be a science show.

While I wouldn't disagree that the things they break are reduced in strength, I also would say that it's super easy either. We all know they use a bunch of sand in their bricks to make them more apt to fracture and they cut their boards with huge grain fractures just waiting to snap in half, but for some of that stuff it's very important that they focus all their strength to a single spot and "Chi" is how they refer to that focus.

I don't really see this as a science show either. It may be science oriented on an elementary school level but it's totally designed around the entertainment value that can be had by seeing things in a way you've never seen before.

Case in point, we didn't really learn a lot of "science" about the pole vault in that segment. We DID, however, learn exactly how freaking hot a female pole vaulter can be by being able to see her from every conceivable angle in ultra slow motion as she made those jumps. My scientific opinion was that she was pretty darn good looking.

I love this show. It's like a sexier version of Myth Busters. Mmm...
