Why is this data missing?

Now, ignoring the super-hot girl with HIV, I want this info:

1) The average lifespan of people with HIV who took AZT (and other drugs).
2) The average lifespan of people with HIV who didn't take AZT and led a healthy lifestyle.

It's as if everyone avoids collecting data on the lifespan of untreated, active, healthy people with HIV. It's taboo in society to not take drugs that will kill you quicker than AIDS.

Almost everyone knows that it was AZT that killed people in mass during the 1980's, and not AIDS. But yet, it's taboo to talk about the mass killings of HIV+ people with hyper-toxic AZT.

Maybe Freddy Mercury didn't have to die so quickly... :(

This is incorrect, especially considering the fact that the drug wasn't approved for treatment until the LATE 80s. People were dying from HIV/AIDS in the 80s because of LACK OF TREATMENT.

As the other member said AZT wasn't even available until 1987, so the tens of thousands of people who died before it can't be blamed on AZT or anti-HIV drugs. Also, I know there are people who claim they tested positive and that their doing fine 15 or 20 years later. However, they don't mention that some people have a genetic mutation that makes them resistant to HIV. It would be interesting to see if these people have that mutation or if they received a false positive test result. In the 80s and early 90s false positives would have been more common than they are today since HIV tests weren't as effective as they are today.

As for the average life span of those who take antivirals, I would not know but I do know that death rates from those diagnosed with AIDS have decreased about 50% since the development of protease inhibitors in 1996/97. In 1997 there were about 32,000 deaths from AIDS complications and in 2008 there were only 16,000 deaths (it's probably less today). Also, scientists have never denied that the drugs can have side effects and that some people might not tolerate them as well as others which is why they still think educating people about the disease is important to prevent further spread.

I thought you had changed your mind on the HIV does not cause AIDS stand? You can research it on Avert.org or in the journalistic book "And the Band Played On. I'm surprised you don't know about the deaths even denialists acknowledge those deaths, but they think drugs and hectic lifestyles is what caused the immune system to collapse in homosexual men and IV drug users (before AZT).
