Just Rewatched it, and it is worse than I remember

I watched both 1 and 2 back to back, and it's amazing how bad this one is compared to the first one. Scout/Laurie is very likable in the first film, she is absolutely intolerable in this. I felt like this should have just been called,

"Scout Taylor Compton screaming at the top of her lungs for 2 hours".

She screamed about being afraid, she screams when chased, she screams when she's angry, she even turned into a belligerent drunk. She went off on people that took her in when they absolutely didn't have to. Her entire character just made to despise her. I wasn't even rooting for her to make it out by the end. I was hoping Micheal killed everybody in the movie. They even turned Loomis into a money grubbing buffoon.

Yes. To be fair, it's supposed to be a tale of what happens when 2 people undergo a traumatic experience like they did in the first film, but Zombie style, taken to the extreme. He had obligations to the first film to keep certain elements, this one all bets are off. Even the hospital dream was his way of saying this is not that Halloween II.

It was a pretty bad film, but he didn't care at this point. He just did it to get it over with.

"He came home." - Dr. Sam Loomis from the original HalloweeN

And that's why Zombie has no business making any further movies.

This is worse than Halloween: Resurrection. That is saying something.

The first film is bad, but this one is among the worst films of its decade.

i sadly agree... i went in with an open mind but it's too much.

even re-watching it recently i can conclude it is a piece of shit. sorry Rob

It really is. This movie is the worst Halloween movie ever made, beating out turds like Resurrection, which is saying a lot. Rob Zombie did his best to crap all over the Halloween franchise with his white trash version of these movies. No wonder John Carpenter said he didn't like Zombie's remakes. Absolutely awful films.
