... But how did Adam Scott's character know who Jessica Alba was? They were both in the book but how did he know she was in the book?

She was telling him stories and he was able to put it together. When she said she got married for the first time at 19, he figured out she was the girl in the book who had her first boyfriend at 9.

Not a prob. Yeah she happened to come to his restaurant to drink/eat. That's how he saw her a 2nd time after meeting outside the therapist's office...

It might have been coincidence, but it may have been on purpose. She could have followed him after one of his appointments or asked someone his name.

Well someone has prior experince with women. I had a crazy ex that just showed up everywhere so i know what you mean ;) the thing that bugs me the most is that i still today dont know wich one of my so called friends she had in her backpocket
