Peter Molyneux...

I have this feeling about Peter Molyneux and his games, a running trend, so to speak. He always attempts to greatly increase the scope of the game in certain aspects (predominantly the freedom of choice aspect) but the supposed 'freedom' is merely cosmetic and very limited, as well as the many other aspects of the game being limited.

I just feel that his ideas are great, but they just don't transfer well into video games. He could design some of the worlds greatest games if he didn't feel that gamers need to be lead by the hand.

To all fans of Fable and Fable 2, I advise The Elder Scrolls series!

I completely agree with you. Sometimes I think he tries to take too many ideas at once too. He shoves them all together and the end result is half of what was originally promised. He just can't do everything that he sets out to do.

However, I disagree with Elder Scrolls. Fair enough, the only one I have played is Oblivion but it put me off the rest The freedom was great but I found the controls quite confusing (mainly the whole menu thing) I found myself bored after half an hour. I was quite disappointed as my expectations were rather high.

I only played Daggerfall and Morrowing, thought they were cool.

Also, in the same vain, Ultima VII and Ultima VII part 2. Don't play 8 or 9... Just don't :P

I haven't played all of his games, but I noticed in the Fable and Black and White series, that apparently you can do the whole 'good or evil' thing, and it was totally hyped up, but then you got a main story which intended you to be a hero of the people. I thought that was lame.

I'll check out those games...just not 8 and 9

Yeah, his games all seem to have a similar theme. I was going to buy Black and White until I realised it probably wouldn't surpass Fable. If he came up with more ideas I'm sure they would be good too. Although I enjoy the good and evil thing it seems to be very limited. The choices are so obvious. It's never like the choices in life.
