Fable 3 should be set in which era?

I know some may have already done a posting like this....but.....i dont see it.

If they change the time and place of 3 where should they set it?

Maybe throw it back to bararian times?

throw it another 500 years in the future?

set it in wild west times?

i dont know.

I think it will be a industrial revolution setting with the main player trying to defend the "Great Albion Empire" with lots of steampunk weapons and vehicles.

People seem to think i have hidden depths. I don't, i really am this shallow

I'd love the sort of golden age of piracy period. I was dying to get a hold of a ship in fable 2. It'd be nice to be a bad character as well as a pirate

I didn't think of the industrial revolution, but that's cool. Steampunk ala Arcanum!

But I would like on of the games set in a World War 2 era! XD

PIRATES! that would be amazing, fable 2 always put me in the mood for pirates. the clothes were pirate-y, the lawless town of Bloodstone is straight out of a pirate story, and the combat is fun for that type of gameplay. i too was dying to get on a ship and become a pirate in Fable 2. Peter M. even said that they were going to but the ship mechanics or something wernt deep enough so they cut it out.

Pirates would be cool, but I think they should go 500 years before the first Fable, make a pre-qual (losing the guns for God's sake), setting it in barbaric times before the New Kingdom of Fable 1, playing the actual original Old Kingdom for once that kept getting referenced in the first game.

To those of you who don't know, the Old Kingdom in Fable 2 is the New Kingdom from Fable 1.

I think if it was steampunk-ish that might work. Or they could just stick to whatever era the 2nd is set in.

Yes, the see the future expansion has the 16/1700s era British army uniform (or what it appears to be). Since Fable II takes place in the 1600s period already, I would say it wouldn't be too far into the future, probably 1700s, or first industrial revolution period. But that wouldn't be too much of a difference. I think everyone should remember, though, that this series doesn't actually take place in a time period in history, it's really just fantasy (clockwork weapons, Will, the different versions of weapons all existing at the same time, Hobbes, Trolls, etc). They really could take it in any direction, because it isn't confined by the timeline of real world history. They could set it 300 years ahead and use a steampunk setting, for example. Presumably you will play as the son of a king, and the kingdom's fate will rely on you.

I would love to see some steampunk a la Arcanum. In some ways, it already is. There's clockwork guns and cameras and such. I think Fable 2 seems more like the 1700's rather than the 1600's, with all the pirate talk and such. I'd like to see it in the 1800's next.

I would, too! Sadly, I think whatever was piratey was exhausted in Fable 2...
I also heard that it was supposed to be MORE piratey, but that aspect was dropped because they were coming close to deadline. I wouldn't have minded if they would have taken a couple more months to bring us a more awesome game instead of relying on people who actually buy Microsoft points to explore added content (Seriously, Microsoft... I've already paid for the game ONCE... isn't that enough!?)

I'm Curious to see where Fable 6 takes place. Could Fable 6 take place in current times. I imagine Fable 6 being sort of like a Grand Theft Auto with Magic.

This is my signature, It's freakin' brilliant isn't it?

Fable 3: Industrial revolution, lots of pirates and steampunk
Fable 4: The Great War, planes and sabers
Fable 5: Cyber-Magik-Punk
Fable 6: Space pirates and a colonial world with no technology, a la Darkover
