Sam was a completely different person by the end of the movie. He started off as a womanizer who viewed women as sexual objects and nothing else. Half way into the movie Sam was giving life advice to a newlywed. Near the end of the movie, Sam saw a baby carriage and you could visibly see she had a desire to procreate.
So, I guess it can be said that, when he became a woman, his entire mindset changed. Body, mind, hormones, etc, all made him into a new person. I hope that makes sense.
