'House of Dust' DVD review

Basically, because there never seems to be a sense of urgency from any of the characters, the element of horror just never seems to arise. Considering this is a horror film, it's a bit of a problem.

Thankfully the story is at least tight and allows the film to never overstay its welcome. Director A.D. Calvo does show promise, and hopefully with the right script he can present a more engaging tale. Click below for our full review.

Not hard to understand how it was a horror film and they left you wondering if Emma was the murderer and was lost in her mental issues or if there really was something bigger going on here. I do think there should have been more intense scenes and a quicker pace to things at various times in the movie that would have made it better. As for the ending it allows for another movie to be made and that wouldn't be so bad. The spirit obviously went for a weaker mind of a child so he could mold the victim over time into what he wants him to become. Children are impressionable and more susceptible at young ages so he picked wisely. I look forward to a House of Dust II and hope that somebody with money can recognize that with a few changes here and there this series could be decent.
