Seriously Melissa Mccarthy

No better offers in movies? This is type of movie that either you're an actress trying to get in the industry or on you're way out!

Not that I ever understood it when actors did movies like this. but if I had to apply logic to it, perhaps she thought on paper it sounded good. Like a real slick suit explaining to her like this:

"Hey, you liked Sausage Party? Cool. You liked Who Framed Roger Rabbit? Awesome. You saw Meet the Feebles? Wait you actually saw that movie? You like it? Great news then! We're doing all three as one movie. It's gonna be big! Ted-before-we-got-sick-of-Seth-McFarlane-big!!! What you think?"

Or maybe she actually wants to do comedy movies. Sounds like your trying to insult both the actress and the movie.

I was talking about the puppets

Yea I'm actually interested in this movie due to its use of puppets in a non child film. I still consider this film to be mainly a comedy with the muppets really just being a gimic. I used to watch adult oriented puppet shows like DC follies back in the 80s and 90s. I guess the puppets in an adult show seem out of place in this day and age.

I watch Howard The Duck yesterday. Childhood memories

nice one! much maligned film. and book.

reply

Yea these puppets were pretty much the early seasons of south park when shock value was still funny. No its like meh.

Her husband produced this, and I'm sure (at the time) being attached to a movie made by Jim Henson's son actually sounded like a great idea - almost a prestigious honor. Brian Henson also has a decent track record too.

Problem is, it just didn't work here. They seemed to concentrate more on putting in as many filthy puppet gags as they could, but forgot to make the story actually entertaining. 1h 45min of dirty jokes and no good hook of a story does not a movie make.

To be fair, I don't think even Mila Kunis could have made this script sound funnier.

This reminds me of Whoopi Goldberg doing her Golden Raspberry-winning 'classic' Theodore Rex.
