I should preface by saying I'm not even American. But as an outside observer, I can't see these types of movies having a positive impact.
Barack Obama (during his campaign, back when people still liked him) made some speech in a highly urban location, telling the black youths that it wasn't realistic to all aim to be professional basketball players or rappers. It seems Hollywood does not share those sentiments.
I wouldn't watch a movie about someone getting a businesses degree, but then again, I wont be watching this either.

Yeah, in general, the whole attitude towards education is more along the lines of "edumacacion" -- make 'em feel good that they suck.

As far as Barack goes, well, he showed where he *really* stood on education when he killed the DC-area Charter Schools program, which was the only alteration on/in the DC school system that actually showed any hope for what are, for the most part, inner-city black kids.

Its a terrible movie about dancing thats been done a million times before. For the love of god please dont look into it anymore than that.
