English Subtitles DVD?

I really enjoyed the movie but could not understand a lot of the dialog. The DVd is rented out of RedBox today does no any subtitles. Does anyone know if a DVD is available with English subtitles?

reply

The Blu-ray version has English subtitles.

You might find that the DVD version has closed captions though which are sometimes even better than subtitles with lyrics and sound cues.

Many DVDs that do not have subtitles do have closed captions.

The DVD menu does have English subtitles.

I couldn't get any to show up, even though they were listed in the Windows Media Player menu. There were no subtitles on the actual DVD set up menu - just "Play" and "Scene Selection."

The fact that we're even talking about the necessity for an English language film to have English sub - titles is an indication of how bad this film is. The "narration" (if you could call it that) is almost incomprehensible. I can't recall a film with such an experienced, interesting cast in such a shonky, pretentious production. What was the studio thinking when they green-lighted this one? I think Director Krantz had about as much control and ability as the director "Puss" did in the film...and look what happened to Puss!
