Liked it, but it missed a lot.

I liked this road trip through the US, although it seemed unfair to some states, giving them only a minute or two of discussion, while other states seemed to get their full 15 minutes of fame. Some states were barely driven through at all. It's like I how I "visited Kansas" by taking US 166 from near Joplin to I35, travelling the border with Oklahoma.

What I liked was that Fry presented an atypical view of the US, tending to stay away from the usual tourist traps and focusing on more interesting but not aggressively promoted areas and people.

I was disappointed (but not surprised) that the inhabited US territories of Puerto Rico, Guam, US Virgin Islands, Northern Mariana Islands, American Samoa, were not even mentioned. If they're good enough for the state quarters program, they're good enough for TV.

I would have liked it better had a full 15 minutes been devoted to each state, so it didn't feel like a race. You'll never get something 100% representative, but at least you'll get something at all.

I'd request Fry take a trip through Canada next.

Agreed. I've only watched the first episode, and half of the second, and it seems so rushed at times. Dela-where? What? Joe Biden would be angry. :)

I know - I partly grew up in Delaware and there is a disproportionately large number of fascinating historical sites for such a small state. I didn't even appreciate it at the time.
