Sequel?

So, I have heard talk of a sequel...Is it true? I mean, I thought they died. Anyways, they would make a ton of money off of a sequel, so why not? I really loved the movie, but hated the ending. And I know that them surviving would be really unrealist, but IDGAF. Anyways, is the talk just talk, or is there some truth to it?

I'd love a sequel since there are various possibilities of what took place after the final scene. Where did you hear talk of there being a sequel? I doubt there will be one since I don't think this film performed well enough financially. I could be wrong though since they only show earnings for the first couple of weeks on this site. Since this film had a relatively small budget by filmmaking standards, it may have made enough overall to warrant a sequel.

Not every film needs a sequel. This was a film telling a story, with a beginning, middle, and end. I remenber the days when a self-contained story was enough for viewers. When we watched a film, then we'd maybe go to coffee and discuss it, our feelings, and what we took away from it. I miss the days when movies would connect people, rather than provide distraction or only entertainment.

Oh Niki, there still are such splendid films being made. But from the dawn of filmmaking there have always been serials and sequels. And FWIW, at least two of the most Oscar-ed movies ever, Wizard of Oz and Ben-Hur, were remakes.

That movies like Transformers are blockbusters and this movie doesn't even earn back what it cost to make.

Although I enjoyed the film, I agree that not every film needs a sequel. The story was well contained and felt complete. I liked the questions the ending created, and can appreciate a film that leaves me to do a little thinking on my own.

Maybe a prequel which I think would be more of the same. A sequel and you're pretty much limited to animated space dust.

Yeah, and I also wish they'll make a sequel to "Lost in Translation"! Heck, they should even turn it into a franchise!... Lots of other great movies should have sequels or be turned into franchises, like "Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind", "Truman Show", "Dan in Real Life", etc...

Can you read the sarcasm in my post?

reply

Some movies just really don't need sequels and this is one of them.
