I literally LOVED this film. It was great; the idea of a film killing you reminds me of the Ring but Coming Soon does it so much better, in my opinion. The cting is great, the characters are likeable the scares and pop outs are really scaryy and some scenes *spoilers*
where the main character is stuck in the elevator with the Somba; oh sheet, I was scaredd. x]
anyways; this movie is excellent and I truely enjoyed the goreyness and scare tactics used in this film. 10/10
yeh it was good, but i think the ending was rushed.
i suppose i should mention this contains spoilers.
so, basically we are expected to believe this guy is being confronted by the crazy horror movie dead actress whos freaking out cos he wants to see her die...and he doesnt say a word? personally id be mentioning that i didnt want to see her die, im trying to destroy the tape so that she has peace and so on. sure, it wouldnt work, but the point is TRYING. he didnt do anything, he just sat there, and aside from screaming at the end, he didnt make a damn sound. he also didnt defend himself in any way, ok so youre stuck in a movie, so? that means you give up does it? i mean *beep* the guys seen the movie, he KNOWS whats gonna happen, DO SOMETHING ABOUT IT. yeah i didnt like the ending at all...the rest was ok tho :P
Yes the ending did seem very rush. I just enjoyed the fact that it was more of a simple horror movie, no mind-bending alternate realities or evil twins or some kind of gimmick where 'everything was a dream' type-a-thing that a lot of asian horror movies seem to have, which is not bad in the least, it's just nice to have a simple horror movie every now and then you can watch without trying to figure out wtf just happend the whole time. XD
This movie is in my top ten asian horror, I saw it last night, scared the crap out of me, I loved it from beginning to end! The actors were awesome, and not bad looking lol
it was a decent movie.... not enough scares and thrills...
only scary scenes were the
[spoilers]
when he dropped the watch in theatre and lady poppled out and the elevator scene
other than that.....not much
the end was just horrible...rush it like previous post said
should have confronted the body.. the actor.. where is the actor body.. look for it.... find out why the spirit is haunting the viewers? make a story from that....
overall.. decent movie for first time director....
It was alright, 6.0 sounds about right. Just wondering if someone knows of some other Thai horror movies? I haven't seen that many (this might be the only one), and was looking for some recommendations for others...
might be mainstream now since they remade this, but "The Eye" made by the Pang brothers I truly enjoyed. I thought the american remake was slaughtered...I'm sure most people actually watched it because of Jessica Alba but storyline was just horrible as well as the "scary" scenes.
I agree that it is a pretty good movie with some nice original touches and scares. I only rated it a 6 though. The beginning was excellent, but even at under an hour and a half the movie was a little drawn-out - probably would've made a much more effective short film. It always makes me laugh when somebody is in a dark place and realises there might be something behind them, that it takes them about 2 minutes to turn around and look! Sorry to sound shallow, but the lead guy was pretty cute, if a bit too dumb. ;o) One too many horror film clichés overall, which took away from the originality of the rest.
[spoiler]
Also, the idea that they actually released a film knowing that the woman had died is just too much to believe. An actual box-office snuff movie? I think not ;o)
I looked on this movie because everyone told it was scary and wonderful but I got really pissed it was nothing not scary no good script no nothing bad special effects I puked watching it
I recently watched this movie and liked it, I didnt like the ending much but it also gave this feeling of doom for all the people that watched the movie. Everyone is going to die....much faster that Ringu and One missed call.
I'm not used to these kind of jump scenes from an Asian horror, I guess the Koreans do it a bit differently than the Japanese. I gave this an 8, it's a really solid, tense and just scary enough little horror...
The idea that you can be a part of the movie once you watch it... Holy Moly... Some really big scares in this one. Once you turned your suspension of disbelief off, it's really enjoyable.
spoilers" If this movie would of ended with the shot of the girl crying in the empty teather after looking at the guy being killed in the film this movie would of been one of the greatest for me because even if it didn´t say it out loud. I though the movie was about not looking at pirate films, and that the actress instead of wanting to kill everyone who watched it, only killed the ones who watched it before the screening that would of made total sense and that´s why she takes their eyes out. But instead they actually imply she is just a normal ghost killing everyone who watches her film (ring). Dumb. The characters were likable enough to have more development at least 10 mins longer.
