Nice to see...

It was nice to see her as a person and not just a random image spewed across a magazine or the nightly news. Maybe now people will understand that they are feeding the paparazzi when they buy these magazines that don't tel the whole story because they don't really know anything.

I am not a fan of her music or really her career, but no one should be treated like she was treated and I'm glad her father is in her life and has helped her out. She needed real ppl looking out for her and now that she does you can see the difference.

All those ppl who called themselves her friends before should be cut out of her life. I can't believe how much I really am pissed at those fake ppl around her.

Yeah, I haven't really followed her career or been a real fan of her's since her early albums (like everyone was), but I really enjoyed the documentary and loved seeing a side of her no one in the press cares about showing. It's nice to know she's a real person we can empathize with and not this wack job the press paints her to be. It was really fun and intimate and at times, moving. Sure, it was a little too tame for a documentary about Britney Spears (but this is MTV), but all in all, it set the record straight and was enjoyable.

This is a little off topic but, I wish more stars would do documentaries about their lives. I mean, I know they value their privacy and feel like they shouldn't HAVE to let us in, but if they all just gave the general public SOMETHING, it might passify them enough to get rid of SOME of the hysteria and mystery surrounding their "celebrity image."

Wouldn't showing people a truer side of yourself, even if that means giving a part of yourself away be better than keeping it all from everyone, creating mystery, curiosity and wonder (which only leads to paparazzi stalking them and gossip and made up stories being printed in tabloids) and have parts of you stolen from you by the paps and press?

I mean they'd have control over how they're portrayed and what fans get to see and fans would be pleased. And if they were of big stars (let's say one about Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, just to throw some names out there) and were released on DVD, they could dontate all the money from sales to their favorite charities or something.

I'd have to agree with you on some celebrities letting you into their lives, though they really shouldn't have to. In my opinion people who will see this documentary won't quickly judge her actions if let's say she has another meltdown in the future, they'll be wondering what's going on in her life to make her act this way......and get tired of the media misconstruing her life.

But for some people the mystery is what makes their career, I mean if we found out more about them we might not like their true selves. (In the cases of a lot of celebrities who get caught up in the moment and back some unsavory politicians)

I personally would love to see a documentary as you have said but I think as a culture we don't want to view movie stars as people, because then we'd have to be honest with ourselves and realize we are jealous of their lives. But the documentaries might show us that what we all have is better than we realize.

I really hate that so many people are jealous of celebrities. It's one of those random things in life that has nothing to do with me but makes me a little sad.

tstrausberg2003, thank you. And actually the documentary originally premiered on MTV and LOGO (simultaneously) Sunday, Novemeber 30 and after repeating on MTV several times, it eventually repeated on VH1, too (all those channels are owned by the same company).
