So I just watched both Genius Party(s) and I felt that Genius Party, Happy Machine, Moondrive, and Toujin Kit were the ones that clicked with me the most. I cant really explain why, just that they worked for me :)

Also Shanghai Dragon, Deathtic 4, Baby Blue, and Gala to much lesser extent. The rest were unappealing to me and forgettable. The only one I could pin down as awful would be Limit Cycle, hehe.

And I dont remember if Juno Reactor was behind the music for any short other than Dimension Bomb, but it was quite beautiful. I need to hear more...

Which segments made you feel something, made you think? Please share! You can say why - or not.

I liked the showmanship of most of them, like the Shanghai Dragon bit and moon drive, and Gala,

And Baby Blue was a somber but fine piece of work to even out the outlandishness of some of the entries.

I agree that Limit Cycle where the weakest of the lot, mostly because it resorted to just bladder on with its ramblings about god and math. Done much better in Pi.

But hands down, forgetting all else. While the best of the other ones made me go "wow", Koji Morimotos Dimension Bomb just blew my friggin mind away! Quite seriously, I was gasping and holding my head by the hair, occasionally letting off a nervous laughter in short bursts while the credits rolled. And I had to take a long walk, 4 o clock in the morning, in the freezing Swedish winter just to regain senses enough to be able to go to sleep.

It could be that I watched all of the works from both anthologies in one sitting, essentially subjecting myself to 3-4 hours of varying degrees of psychedelic anime. And Dimension Bomb became the final blow to a weakened mental resistance. So I cannot say if watching it on its own would have the same effect on me at the second viewing. But having seen Morimotos previous work has convinced me that he is the closest I'll ever need to get the experience of LSD...

Oh, and I guess I now know why he loves Tempura and Ice Cream... ;)

I loved Moondrive
I'd be nice to see another anime like that
