anti-man/husband/fath er movie
Anyhoo...it didn't strike me as a really, really bad movie, but I can see how kids wouldn't be into it. What I did notice was that it felt like an "anti-man/husband/father" movie. There's no father figure anywhere in the movie, until the end when dad shows up from a business trip, literally the very end. But the whole theme of the movie is about family, and how family and love is important.
But men are supposed to be integral to a family and they are either completely missing from the movie or are portrayed as slackers, F ups, goofballs, and/or useless idiots.
For that utter conflict with it's very own theme this movie kinda sucks and it's message is lost.
