anti-man/husband/fath er movie

Anyhoo...it didn't strike me as a really, really bad movie, but I can see how kids wouldn't be into it. What I did notice was that it felt like an "anti-man/husband/father" movie. There's no father figure anywhere in the movie, until the end when dad shows up from a business trip, literally the very end. But the whole theme of the movie is about family, and how family and love is important.

But men are supposed to be integral to a family and they are either completely missing from the movie or are portrayed as slackers, F ups, goofballs, and/or useless idiots.

For that utter conflict with it's very own theme this movie kinda sucks and it's message is lost.

Of course, the Male martians were also uneducated, and basiclaly just dumped into the Trash beneiht he City, which may explain why they weren't well representitive. I think you read too much into it though.

You missed a key point to the movie.

That the Martians needed both their mothers and fathers, like at the end when the children are reunited with the male Martians.

Not to mention the painting in the wall. If anything the Martians "villain" is the mother figure
